A general introduction to motion graphics and compositing using Adobe After Effects. Learners should have some understanding of a non-linear editing package (such as Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Avid) and/or Photoshop. This course covers animating values using keyframes and basic helpers such as the wiggler and the smoother, understanding some of the different types of compositing and masking, applying effects and installing plugins, using text and paint tools, tracking objects and stabilising footage, rendering finished compositions for use in outside projects.

Entry Requirements
Students will need at least a basic understanding of an editing software package and/or another digital media creation software package (for example, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and so on). Students should be fluent in English.
