The Beatrice Laing Trust makes grants in the following categories:

• children and youth – child welfare, education, youth development;
• health and medicine – addiction/ rehabilitation, disability, emergency services, medical welfare and research, mental health/mental handicap;
• overseas aid – development projects, relief projects;
• religion – community outreach, religion: home, religion: individuals, religion: overseas; and
• social welfare – armed Services, community projects, crime reduction/prison welfare, elderly, housing, welfare projects.
