With its 1930s charm, the Islington Assembly Hall is perfect venue for a a range of events and performances and is available to hire throughout the year.
Islington Council is pleased to be offering 10 local community groups, schools or arts organisations the chance to apply for a free use of the Assembly Hall in 2012.

The glamorous interior, once graced by dance hall stars like George Formby and Diana Dors, retains many original art deco features and includes both a fully-sprung, ballroom dance floor and stage making it as adaptable as it is stylish.
The hall can accommodate a range of layouts seating up to 170 people cabaret-style or 230 people theatre-style in the main hall. Additional seating is also available for another 200 people in the upper circle.
Modern enhancements include an impressive audio/visual system with large screen projection and a permanently installed PA system. Radio microphones and other presentation aids are also available.
The building is also fully accessible and is fitted with a hearing loop.
Conveniently located on Upper Street, the Assembly Hall is easily accessible by public transport. It is a 10 minute walk from either the Victoria tube and overland station at Highbury or Northern tube line at Angel. It is also served by the 4, 19, 30 and 43 bus routes.
