Creative Islington
The latest news

Every day across Islington, people who care about their local community make a positive and selfless contribution to the lives of others. These actions often go unrewarded.
Do you know an individual, family or group who has made an outstanding contribution to life in Islington and deserves recognition for their hard work? If so, we want to hear from you, as the council would like to thank these people on behalf of everyone who lives in our area. Would you like to thank someone special?
The awards also include the Ben Kinsella award, a special youth award in memory of Ben to celebrate a young person whose positive actions and endeavours have made their mark on the local community.
In 2011 the Ben Kinsella Award recognised two young men whose positive actions have made their mark on the local community in Tufnell Park. Daniel Lusardi, 14, and Rhys Farthing, 15, are Chair and Vice Chair respectively of the Hollins and McCall Young People’s Committee, whose members must sign a good behaviour pledge.
The committee also organises clubs and a local football tournament which is helping to challenge postcode wars in the area and prevent gang culture.
Please visit http://www.islington.gov.uk/Council/councilwho/whomayor/mayorscivicawards/ to nominate.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 27 January.
