Reel Islington’s 2012 Film Festival will take place from 24th-26th February and be based on the theme “We the People”. The festival will showcase the works of both established and up-and-coming filmmakers. There will also be workshops and talks led by industry professionals. It promises to be an exciting weekend with a little bit of something for everyone. Some of the events highlights include:

- 2 afternoons of “Meet the Professionals Workshops” led by industry insiders

- Screening of “Leaving Baghdad” followed by a Q&A with Director Koutaiba Al-Janabi and Producer Hannah Heffner

- “People and Places” screening: a collection of short films, including the hard to find Martin Scorsese film “Italianamerican”

- Screening of “Battle of Orgreave”, a film about the Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller’s spectacular re-enactment of the 1984 miners strike. Screening will be followed by a discussion with Jeremy Deller and Local MP Jeremy Corbyn
